Egg

Eggs are a feature in Pokémon GO that allows users to hatch Pokémon by walking. Eggs can be obtained at PokéStops, where they have a chance to appear. There are three different types of Eggs: 2km, 5km, and 10km. Hatching an Egg will provide 1,000 Experience Points and possibly 500 additional Experience Points if it is a new Pokémon. Hatching an Egg will provide a varying amount of candies of the type of Pokémon hatched. Hatched eggs give you a variable but high amount of matching candies and stardust.

Usage

To hatch an egg, the user must place it inside an Egg Incubator. Once the egg is inside the incubator, it simply requires the user to walk around in order to increase kilometers walked. It is required that the app is open in order to register the kilometers that are walked. The app does not count movement that is above 15km/h.

When an account is created, trainers are given a single orange Egg Incubator that has unlimited uses.

The user can obtain more Egg Incubators through, in-game purchases, or through level-up rewards. These Egg Incubators are blue and have three usages.

Hatching one of these eggs will reward you with 1000 XP and about 7-15 candy of the pokémon you hatched, plus 10 times the stardust of the candy you got.
